To the extent that SOA has comic relief, Chucky is it. He served time in prison with Otto Delaney, who arranges for the club to look after him in exchange for a promised pile of money that Chuck hid while working as a bookkeeper for the Lin Triad. Chuck proves to be less than honest in his business dealings, and is traded between the Triad and the Club like a minor league ball player. Chucky is also a compulsive masturbator. He frequently has his hands down his pants at the worst moments, a trait which grates on the nerves of Triad leader, Henry Lin, who takes extreme measures to remedy the problem.Chucky is something of a mascot for the club, or a dutiful mongrel dog. They treat him poorly, yet rely on him heavily at times. He has come up with crucial solutions to problems for the club. He picks up annoying verbal habits, such as speaking French, and seems to have a particular ability to drive Gemma nuts.
