Danni Sofer is an LAPD officer and a love interest for a couple of the men on the force. Vic Mackey develops an ongoing, occasional sexual affair with her, as does her unofficial mentor, Dutch Wagenbauch. Danni is an attractive woman and a tough cop, knowing the ins and outs of the streets, when to use force and just how much. She's also a good training officer and takes Julien under her wing early on, teaching him not only how to work the streets but how to handle the finer points of relating to his peers on the police force.Soon enough, Danni becomes pregnant and it is unknown who the father might be. The officers around The Barn go so far as to start an office pool to try to guess.Danni's relationship with Dutch is more complicated as he serves as more of a mentor to her and tends to get jealous when he sees her (or anyone he is interested in, for that matter) with someone else. Danni uses Dutch's interest in her to her own advantage when it suits her. Their relationship evolves over time. At one point, Danni finds herself in a somewhat tense rivalry with another female officer, especially when they both take an interest in the same man.
