Beiste is the head football coach at McKinley High School, having replaced Ken Tanaka at the start of Season Two.She is a large woman without conventional good looks. Because of this she struggles with self-confidence and feelings of inadequacy. This is made even worse when she arrives in Lima and Will and Sue have formed an unlikely alliance to try and hurt the football team for budgetary reasons.Beiste's personality is in stark contrast with her appearance and profession. She is sweet woman who loves her students. She fiercely loyal to her friends and will do whatever she can to help them in times of need.Beiste is brought to McKinley as a high successful coach. She is charged with revitalizing the fledgling program.
