Bruce Mathis is the biological father of Dennis and Dee Reynolds. Their mother Barbara left him because she thought Frank had more money than Bruce did, but Bruce inherited a large sum and now devotes his life to philanthropic efforts. Dennis and Dee reconnect with Bruce but find that they are unable to relate to him because of the fact that he's basically a good guy.
